This is my first major exposure to deer thus the only size I know. :) But even so I have been surprised by how wee the fawns can be. I almost mistook one of them for a large hare or smallish dog! There are actually a ton of deer in Southern Alberta, even in the cities. The thing I noticed most in the Gulf Islands is how small they are though (different species). A lot of visitors to the islands mistake adult deer for juveniles -- but that's really how big they get! Thanks for the great post Lillea!
